Château Terrebonne

In the heart of Var, halfway between Aix-en-Provence and St-Tropez, we find the Château Terrebonne, in Flassans-sur-Issole. This superb estate covers 140 uninterrupted hectares of ‘garrigue’, oak forest, olive groves and vines. Château Terrebonne has a long history, as we can see from the Neolithic, Iron Age and Roman remains on the estate, in addition to those from the Middle Ages. Long after the Romans, the Domaine became the property of the Counts of Provence who, in the twelfth century, passed it on to an important religious lordship. In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries it was owned by successive generations of a single family.
