We are seeking to recruit a highly numerate, self-motivated, commercially-focused Inventory Assistant. The Inventory Assistant will ensure accurate inventory reporting and optimal physical organization of materials to help prevent stock-outs, improve labour efficiency and on-time delivery and reduce lead time. A top priority is to ensure that the inventory data in our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is accurate. This position will report to the Inventory Supervisor.
Conduct cycle counts and stock checks.
Reconciliation of the results of stock checks and periodic physical counts.
Accurate preparation of accounting entries required to record the receipt, valuation and movement of inventory and fixed assets.
Reporting on exceptions that contribute to errors and process failures.
Produce detailed business performance and accounts information as required.
Possess an associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Demonstrable experience in a similar position.
Have demonstrably high numerical and analytical skills.
Possess excellent interpersonal skills and leadership ability.
Have proven problem-solving ability.
Be a team player.
Be deadline driven with excellent time management skills.
Be computer literate with a strong background in information technology particularly with regard to
knowledge of accounting software packages, Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of SAP would be an
advantage.
